Calling all young writer's ages 12-17! We're inviting Teens to practice the craft of writing, share their work, and enjoy the wonderful world of writing. Stop by for activities and discussion with other teen writers.

Join the staff of the Thurmont and Emmitsburg Libraries for a pop-up to celebrate Fall on the Mount Saint Mary's campus. Library staff will visit the quad with plenty of materials for checkout, as well as some fun games!

Looking to learn about your community, careers, and ways you can make a difference? Want to eat pizza while doing this?

Drop in to make a Wicked craft or two, or play a Wicked-themed party game at Myersville's Shiz University.

Submission Guidelines

Spend one short day in Emerald City having some Wicked fun with Glinda. Enjoy activities and make and take crafts. Costumes encouraged. Enter a drawing for a chance to win a movie theater gift card.

Enter if you dare! Join us for Microscope Mysteries! — a hands-on adventure where young scientists will uncover the hidden world of creepy crawlies and mysterious mini-monsters under the microscope.

Celebrate the season with fall-themed window painting! Use vibrant paints to decorate our windows with leaves, pumpkins, and other autumn designs.

UNPLUGGED is a midweek mindfulness program for teens and tweens. It features low lighting, soft noise, and sensory tools. Each program features a different mindful activity to promote mental wellbeing.

Join us as Middletown's Teen Leadership Council meets. Tweens and teens, grades 6 through 12, meet to collaborate with each other and teen librarians on upcoming library events and to plan teen-led projects.

Take the time to create art! Bring a work in progress or start a new project with all supplies provided by the library. No experience necessary! For teens in grades 6-12. Activities while supplies last. 

Want to get Halloween ready? Come in to learn about how to create your own SFX makeup with simple household items. 

Materials will be provided.

Calling for brave hearts and souls to meet the challenge of this Great Goosebumps escape! Ghastly ghouls, menacing monsters, creepy creatures from Goosebumps book series have escaped their pages and are haunting the Point of Rocks Library.

Spend the first Thursday of the month with a game of chess! Open to all levels of chess players, bring your own chess set or use one of ours. Bring your friends and meet other chess enthusiasts. Ages 9-18. 

Express yourself through writing and media arts as part of our Teen Zine Series. Zines are small self-published magazines that are filled with art of all kinds.

Join us for an interactive guided discussion on resilience designed for ages 14-22. The discussion will highlight key concepts of adversity, emotional and mental stamina, and resiliency.

Staff from the C2 Education Center in Urbana will break down key differences between major standardized tests and explain how to build an effective prep timeline.
