Meet Sarah Rose, author of D-Day Girls, the dramatic, untold story of the extraordinary women recruited by Britain's elite spy agency to help pave the way for Allied victory. D-DAY GIRLS focuses on the inspiring, dramatic story of three of the women who were recruited to, as Churchill ordered, "set Europe ablaze": Odette Sansom, an energetic mother of three eager to escape the safe countryside; Lise de Baissac, a composed leader with an analytic mind; and Andrée Borrel, a scrappy tomboy. Each of them was sent into occupied France, by parachute or by ship through a sea of U-boats, to infiltrate from within. Sarah Rose is a journalist and author of the critically acclaimed For All the Tea in China: How England Stole the World's Favorite Drink and Changed History. As a journalist, Rose has covered a broad range of beats, including international politics and economics during the Hong Kong handover, finance and business during the end of the dot-com bubble, and the environment. She now writes about food and travel  for The Wall Street Journal, Men's Journal, and Bon Appetit among others. Books will be available for purchase and signing. Presented in partnership with Summer Challenge sponsor Curious Iguana.
