Babysitting 101 with 4-H (Ages 14-18)

Become a 4-H certified babysitter.  Course objectives:Develop an understanding of babysitting, entrepreneurship, and leadershipAssess their abilities/skills as a babysitterCreate a draft resumePractice and develop interview skillsUnderstand information (medical, about child(ren), emergency, etc.) prior to babysittingUnderstand safety procedures that should be used when babysitting.Create a first aid kit that can be used while babysitting.Learn and demonstrate how to properly burp a baby.Learn how to properly change a baby's diaper.Identify and learn to handle behavior issues.Acquire strategies to avoid behavioral issues.Identify and acquire strategies to deal with emergency situations.Gain ideas about appropriate entertainment to utilize during babysitting.Demonstrate knowledge gained through an end of the course test completion.  Please note participants must attend both sessions to receive certification.
