Criminal Record Expungement

Maryland Legal Aid is a nonprofit organization that provides free civil legal services to low/no-income individuals.  This presentation will address criminal record expungement in the state of Maryland, including recent changes to expungement law that took effect on October 1, 2023.  The presentation will cover the expungement eligibility of conviction versus non-conviction charges, waiting periods, and expungement alternatives such as shielding.  This presentation will last for one (1) hour and be followed by a Q&A session regarding general expungement law questions. Contact information will be provided for those individuals seeking specific legal advice regarding their own criminal record.
