Join us for a living history performance about the early days of firefighting in Frederick County, Maryland, by author and retired firefighter Chip Jewell.
Clarence “Chip” Jewell has been active in the Frederick County fire service since 1969. He retired in 2017 as Deputy Chief/Director of the Frederick County Volunteer Fire & Rescue Service and also served as the Director of Emergency Communications.
Mr. Jewell is the author of History of Fire Companies in Frederick County, Maryland and Firefighting in Frederick County, and has written articles for FIREHOUSE Magazine and FIREHOUSE.com. He is a Board of Contributor writer for the Frederick News-Post.
Mr. Jewell is the president of the Frederick County Fire & Rescue Museum and has received the National Historic Preservation Award from the Daughters of the American Revolution.
