Meet experienced hiker and educator Tara Gettig at the lower parking area near the Washington Monument State Park office for a walk-and-talk hike to the top. Wear sturdy shoes and bring your own water and snacks. No entrance fee.
The park has generously waived the entrance fee for this library program. Library customers do not need to pay at the honor box at the entrance.
Tara Gettig worked as an educator for Pennsylvania State Parks, taught geography at Shippensburg University, and teaches at the ILR 55+ at FCC. She has a passion for sharing outdoor recreation and has hiked 900 miles of the Appalachian Trail.
