Kari draws from her experiences critiquing and being critiqued in settings such as writers' retreats, formal conference critiques, manuscript editing, and peer feedback forums, to help members embrace critiques of their work and give feedback that is valuable to other writers. This will be an interactive presentation. Toward the end, we will break into groups for some critique exercises, and then talk about forming critique groups outside of monthly meetings.  If you wish to join a critique group, please have in mind your genre(s) and availability.   Speaker bio: In addition to serving as Vice President of the Frederick Chapter of the Maryland Writers' Association, Kari is an active member of the Society for Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) and she has been matriculating in the McDaniel College "Writing for Children and Young Adults" Master's Certificate program.  She has an M.A. in Linguistics from George Mason University, which she puts to use when editing rhyming manuscripts for independent children's authors.  For more information about Kari, visit kariannmartindale.com.  Information about her two self-published children's books in the Flash Series can be found at theflashseriesbooks.com.
