Frederick County Public Libraries will close at 5 p.m. December 31, 2025 and be closed January 1, 2026 for New Year's.

Recycled Animal Contest

Event Details

Make your Recycled Animal sculpture at home and bring it to display at the Urbana Regional Library between April 1-15th!

  • Create an animal out of any recyclable materials found at your house such as water bottles, milk jugs, egg cartons, etc.
    • No bigger than 25"x25"x25" (WxLxH)
  • Be creative!
  • Name your animal sculpture! Give us details about its life. Write all of this on the entry form found at the library.
  • Bring in your sculpture & entry form before the deadline on April 15th.

Voting by the public will take place April 17- 21st.

Winners will be announced on Earth Day, April 22nd during the library program Stories and Seed Bombs: Celebrate Earth Day with Green Team Urbana from 1-2 pm.

Entries not picked up by Sunday, April 30th will be recycled.
