What do art and AI have in common? Everything! Art and literature envision new worlds, not just the world given to us. AI as a social technology operates in similar ways through its world-making capabilities, including its “hallucination.” AI is an artistic form of adaptive technology. Technology and art have shared symbiotic relations. With a new mindset, we can turn AI into a public interest technology.

Join Professor Joubin from George Washington University in this interactive session to find out how technology has always been intertwined with art, and how artistic imagination has led to new tech designs. Participants will apply humanistic insights to thoughtful interactions with AI. Together, we will think about the social functions of novels, paintings, films, and literature in the context of AI-generated texts and images.
