Understanding Spiritual Experiences: Near Death Experiences, Mysticism, 19th Century, Spiritualism

Spiritual experiences are not well understood or discussed. Experiencers often fear being misunderstood or judged. In recent years, several organizations have been set up to study and understand these and other spiritual phenomena. This course will examine some of the enclaves of spiritual experiences including mysticism, near death experiences, nineteenth century spiritualism, after death communication, and shared death experiences. 

This is a four part class that meets on 9/21, 9/28, 10/12, 10/19. Presented by Dr. Sara Towe Horsfall, who currently teaches Sociology at Frederick Community College. This course is offered through Frederick Community College and the Institute for Learning in Retirement (ILR 55+) program.
