Join us for an hour of Minecraft creation. This program is for elementary age children who are ready to have fun crafting a world together. Never played, no problem, staff will be on hand to help with the basics.

In this thrilling show, young scientists will embark on a STEM adventure! Kids will explode right into a mission that reveals challenges of defying gravity and electrifying obstacles, all while exploring science principles to navigate an escape!

Visit the library and meet Mermaid Eureka! Designed for children in grades K-5.

Embark on a magical literary journal at our Special Evening Storytime.  After the tales unfold, let your creativity soar as a family and build your own enchanted reading fort in our library with provided supplies.

Come “touch” a variety of trucks and vehicles! Learn all about and snap photos next to (or inside!) these cool vehicles. Rain or shine, appropriate for all ages. Event will start at 10:00 am---please no early birds!

Small steps can protect our world in big ways! Join us at 1PM on Thursday, June 20  at the C. Burr Artz Public Library for story time with Lauren Paulet, City of Frederick Sustainability Outreach Coordinator.

Experience the fun of planting indoors! Join other teens and tweens in decorating your own unique planter. Choose your succulent and give it a nice, new home! Learn about planting and caring for succulents in this exciting, hands-on activity.

Join us for a discussion, workshop, and demonstration about the running of Happenstance Theater, an ensemble of 5 multi-talented artists who devise original performer-generated productions under the Artistic Co-direction of Mark Jaster and Sabrina

Calling all aspiring engineers or builders of any kind!  Come to the library to create a whole town out of tape and blocks. We'll put down tape roads to drive on and stop at themed stations along the way to challenge, cooperate, and learn.

Meet and greet with Jenn and her Uncommon Critters! This is a show, tell, and touch experience focusing on general facts, unique characteristics, and animal stewardship.

Come visit our pop-up library and tour the ice cream shop to learn how ice cream is made at Bruster's of Frederick!

Practice reading to a furry friend!

Children practice reading skills to the patient and adorable Reading Education Assistance Dogs. For Children Grades K-5. 

Join children’s book author Joëlle Retener (they/them) as they read from their colorful new picture book ‘Marley’s Pride.’ Coloring sheets and bookmarks will be available at the event as well as signed books to purchase.

The folks at i9 Sports will be leading us in a fun obstacle course that improves our gross motor skills.

Learn all about author and illustrator, Eric Carle with a special reading of "The Very Hungry Caterpillar." We will enjoy several creative activities as well. Designed for children in grades K-5.
